I believe that the rule that states, that "females may not study at schools,universities, or any other educational institution" is the most oppresive because I believe we all deserve an education. All women should pursue their dreams if education is one of them.

I believe that the rule that states, "no burying of anyone who was killed by the Taliban. Bodies must remain in the streets as examples to other wrongdoers" is most oppressive. I believe this because it is very traumatic to see a dead body lying in the floor. Especially for children to have to see that everyday.

The Kite Runner

I am reading the book The Kite Runner and I am half way through the book. So far I like the book. It is a book that contains different main ideas. It talks about love, guilt, wealth, rape, loyalty and many more themes. It takes place in Kabul in Afghanistan. My favorite character so far is Soraya because she reminds me of myself. She loves Amir so much and his father, Baba as well. She cares for him when he is almost dying. It is a really sad story that will bring tears to your eyes.

We had our book discussion for the first half of the book and I enjoyed it more than any other discussion. I enjoyed the exercises we made it made the discussion really fun.

The Kite Runner-Ethnic groups in Afghanistan

1. The population og Afganistan is 32 million people.
2. There are eight ethnic groups in Afganistan. Amir belongs to the group of Pashtuns and Hassan belongs to the group called Hazaras.
3. The two official languages spoken in Afganistan are Pashtu and Dari. 30 other languages are spoken as well.
4. The major religion in Afganistan is Islam.
5. The two ethnic groups in Afganistan are the Pashtuns and the Tajiks.
6. The main language of the Pashtuns is Pastu.
7. Pashtuns are so influential in Afganistan because they are the higher group and the lower groups help them out.
8. There is approximately 27% Tajiks of the population.
9. Most Hazara reside in the central Afganistan mountain region called "Hazarajet."
10. The ethnic groups historically best known as farmers are the Uzbek and Turkmen.
11. Ethnic groups best known as nomads and camel breeding are the Aimaqs.
12. The majority of Muslims in Afganistan belong to the Sunni sect.
13. The Tajiks are best known for the agriculture and their town life.
14. Hazaras belong to the Sunni sect.

Cool Salsa book review

Cool Salsa is a poem with bilingual poems. These are poems of latinos/Mexicans growing up in the U.S. I liked this book but i disliked it as well. I liked it because the poems had strong messages of situations that actually happen to our people. Also i think it taught us new things. For example how we should like our skin color "brown" because god made us brown. I kind of disliked the book because a few poems were hard to understand. I didnt understand them untill we disscussed the poem as a class. The Words Alive disscussion was great. I enjoyed listening to the different points of view of every single of my classmates.

My Goals for this Report Card

1. By the end of this report card I would like to finish my U.S history credits and my English partials. I will continue to come to school everyday and do extra work to finish even faster.


2. Also by the end of this report card I would like to have finished my senor portfolio and have started my senor project. To accomplish this I am going to focus on my senor stuff and work extra hard.


3. During this report card I would like to help my classmates out with their academic grades and goals. I will motivate them to do good and to keep going.
