1) Who was your favorite protagonist in the book/movie?
My favorite protagonist in the book and movie was Lily. I feel she was a very strong person at her age. She went through a lot and she learned how to deal with all her problems.

2)What message is the author trying to tell the readers? (theme) What does this message mean to you?
The message the author is trying to tell us is that family is what you make it. Your family doesn't necessarly need to be your actual parents, it can be whoever you make your parents.

What does the "Secret Life of Bees" have to do with racism?

1) The Secret Life of Bees has to do with racism because of the Civil Rights Movement was being passed. The civil Rights Movement was being approved to stop segregation. In the book white people treated the colored people badly because of their colored skin.

2)I can relate Lily's experience with racism because many people see us teenage moms in a bad way because we are young mothers having babies.

3) I can relate a moment in my life to something that happened to me in my doctors office. I think they treated me differently than another patient. i think she treate dthe other young lay with more respect!
